We honestly believe we have the best job in the world! You know the one that truly makes you happy, that you look forward to even when it’s a long way off? This past week, we were part of a team of 5 photographers who provided photographic support for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The weather was better than it has been in years.
We are contracted to photograph the inflation of the balloons the night before the parade and then their Confetti Carpet event the morning of – this is where Celebrities are interviewed for their social media feeds. When the parade kicks off at 9am, we walk the route and photograph the parade and the crowds having fun.
But honestly, we are having more fun than anyone. We have unfettered access to the parade route; walking among the bands and groups, trying not to get run over by atv’s holding down the giant balloons, and of course getting great images of Santa Claus himself. It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and not stay focused, but that’s why we are there. So 4000 images later, editing like a fiend, we wanted to share. Hope you enjoy and that you had a great Thanksgiving. We also hope that what ever you do, that you love it as much as we do.
